Beginning Geometry

A quick intro to terms used in Geometry. I am updating this set.

  definition

  a straight line extending from the center of a circle or sphere to the circumference or surface.

  diameter

  definition

  The diameter is the length of the line through the center that touches two points on the edge of the circle.

  area of a square

  definition

  the length of one side, multiplied by itself.

  a right angle

  definition

  an angle of 90 degrees.

  hypotenuse

  definition

  the side opposite of the right angle of a triangle.
